The Archbishop’s Christmas Appeal will be launched in parishes throughout the Archdiocese on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 November 2023.
“Do not turn your face away from anyone who is poor...whenever we encounter a poor person, we cannot look away, for that would prevent us from encountering the face of the Lord Jesus.” "Caring for the poor is more than simply a matter of a hasty hand-out. It calls for re-establishing the just interpersonal relationships that poverty harms. In this way ‘not turning our face away from anyone who is poor leads us to enjoy the benefits of mercy and charity that give meaning and value to our entire Christian life." Pope Francis, World Day of the Poor
The Archbishop’s Appeal Letter and donation envelopes will be provided in each of our parish churches or alternatively, donations can be made online. We ask that you give generously to help those who reach out to us for help this Christmas and to help the work of our Archdiocesan agencies which reach out to care for our brothers and sisters struggling in the community.
